Context
Lucky Sod is a distinctive flavoured Irish whiskey brand with a fun, energetic and accessible personality. Designed to be enjoyed as shots, long drinks or cocktails, the brand stands out through a popular flavour profile and a playful approach to whiskey.
Challenge
The project was part of a full packaging redesign. The ambition was to embrace the funky and playful character of the product while making sure the bottle would stand out clearly on shelf.
The redesign needed to make the brand more appealing to new consumers and more attractive visually, without losing the authenticity and loyalty already built around Lucky Sod.
Solution
For this project, the chosen closure was a ROPP 31.5 × 44. A key requirement was to create a metallic blue varnish that would match the foil used on the front label.
Bostocap worked on the colour and finish to create a closure that matched the label treatment closely, bringing consistency between the cap and the overall packaging design. The result feels intentional, as if the closure had always been part of the brand system.

Result
The final closure helped complete the product’s new look. By matching the colour of the label foil and the closure, the redesign gained a more coherent and premium finish, elevating the overall perception of the bottle.
Since launch, the closure has helped complete the product’s new look by bringing stronger consistency between the label and the cap, giving the bottle a more coherent and premium finish. Looking back, the strongest part of the collaboration was Bostocap’s ability to work precisely on the colour development to achieve the best possible final result.
